About Me
Elizabeth Case, Ed.M., LPCC, LCPC
I am a therapist because I am inspired and challenged by helping people heal, learn, and grow. I love my work and feel honored every day to be let into my clients’ lives. I enter into relationship with curiosity, compassion and confidence that clients have all they need to find relief and thrive. My job is to identify, guide and support along the way.
I’ve been a therapist since graduating with an MA and EdM in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University in 2007, and have had a private practice for over a decade.
I have worked in addiction recovery centers, psychiatric hospitals, as well as higher education. In addition to counseling, I have enjoyed years of work in non-profit management and fundraising. These experiences have been invaluable in building the powerful skill set I now bring to therapy. I am licensed in California and Illinois so I can work virtually with clients in either state. I offer in-person sessions at my office in Lake Forest, IL. I remain actively involved in my California counselor community with peer consultation and continuing education. I appreciate your interest in working with me and will be honored to help you find well-being and the purposeful, happy life you seek to live.
-
I work collaboratively with clients which means I want to hear your voice in the story you tell as well as in how you experience our work together.
You are the expert on you. My role is to increase your awareness and understanding and to help provide tools to make working with yourself more effective. I am results-oriented, and deeply respectful of your individuality. I provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential counseling environment prioritizing trust and compassion.
-
I first work to understand the reasons underlying your request for counseling and what you hope to gain from this experience.
Guided by this information, I will explore how you embody emotion and express your feelings. I will assist you in examining thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may conflict with your hopes and goals.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychiatric services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychiatric services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
“It isn’t enough to talk about peace.
One must believe in it. And it isn’t enough to believe in it.
One must work at it.” —Eleanor Roosevelt
